I wish I had something more exciting than school to write about but I don't... sorry.
This week has had it's ups and downs. Lets start with the good news. I got my first paper back in English and it had a big ol star on it as well as the teachers notes that it 'one of the best in class'. When she was fumbling through trying to find mine, I noticed mine was the only star so I am going to go ahead and assume mine was THE best, not one of the best :) Then we had to present our choice for an opinion piece we're writing and she praised mine as being 'thoughtful' and 'out of the box'. Yeah me!
Now before you start thinking I am too smart, lets move onto Math. I had my first test today and felt pretty prepared. I studied for an hour and half this morning and another hour and a half right before class. I made sure to take my time and be thorough. But wouldn't you know that I got a 65% anyway?!? DAMMIT! I went into Math with an open mind. In fact I kinda figured that after my 8 year break from school I would somehow be a math genius and less of a good writer. Don't ask me why I thought this... I guess that's what I wanted to happen. As it turns out, all those years in grade, middle and high school were right. I suck at Math and am good at English.
Stupid brain!! If you're wondering why I am not embracing my strengths, it's because the good careers are math and science heavy. I have been harboring secret hopes of doing the Pharmacy program but considering I am sucking at Math and Biology isn't much better, I am not sure that is a smart idea. Bah!
Back to my career researching I go.

You don't want a career just because it's one of "the good ones". You want it because you love it. If Pharmacy is so heavy in math and science and you hate those, maybe its not for you. I'm 3 years into school and I am thinking this week that maybe I want to switch my major AGAIN! Still within business, but a different designation. You never know how you feel about things until you take the class. I thought I would hate Logistics and Supply Operations, but lo and behold, I am enjoying it more than any other business class. Somehow what I thought would be uber boring is what I am considering majoring in!
Listen to Lauren, Becky! I see those "tests" as a prompt to leave yourself open to the many possibilities ahead of you. You'll get there in good time. Be patient with yourself. It's the journey, ya know!!!
