Happy Halloween everyone! This is one of my favorite holidays and this year I am not really taking part in it but thats ok. I'll just be ready with a killer costume for next year :) I did get to see the Today show and Regis and Kelly which I love! They alway do great costumes. Regis and Kelly had some funny ones, did anyone see the ladies that won?? It was pretty funny, there was also a baby who was Micheal Phelps and it was super cute. I have to work tonight so I am hoping to see some cute little ones in the mall :) It is perfect Halloween weather here. Its about 70 degress but it's not sunny its grey and windy... so great for trick or treaters!
Lauren FINALLY got her wedding pictures today (read her blog for the full story on her idiot photographer) and they look beautiful! I'll get some up this weekend.
On another note I joined Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago. I wasn't sure if I was going to tell everyone because I honestly wasn't sure I would be able to stick to it. I have failed about a million diets. But I feel a major change this time and am happy to stick to WW because its actually easy! I don't feel deprived and feel so much better about my choices. I cheated once last week and I didn't even enjoy it! That is BIG for me. So anyway I have lost 5.5 lbs so far and I will keep my weekly updates on here for you... and to keep me more accountable :)

Long Week
It has been such a long week for me. Both emotionally and physically. I am just so ready to have my life feel settled. Moving was stress enough and I was hoping the last few weeks would have helped lighten the load. I am glad to be working instead of sitting at home but being on my feet for 8 hours a day is wreaking havoc on my body. My legs and back are killing me :( I've tried heels and flats and inserts and nothing helps. I think I need a good massage, some chiropractic work and to lose about 50 pounds. The first 2 aren't going to happen and I am working on the last one but it's such a struggle too. The biggest stress has been my sister though. Thinking that she could be that sick was sickening and to not be there for her was heart breaking. I love her so much and am so thankful that she was ok and that this blood mass was caught before it did more damage. It was so hard to hear that everyone was there for her except for me. I felt so out of the loop and so helpless. All in all it was a lot to handle. I want to be the friend, sister or daughter who goes the extra mile no matter what. To not be able to fufill that role has had me on the verge of tears all weekend. It doesn't help that I am in a new town and don't have my usual support system. I am not regretting my decision to be here, I am just anxious to feel connected to it. Because right now I am just plain home sick :(

Good News!!
Oh I am feeling so much better!! My sister came out of surgery just fine and after they removed her mass they discovered it wasn't a tumor but a vascular malformation. I am not exactly sure what that is but its basically a bunch of cells and blood that band together. I am just so relieved it's not cancerous!! She will be home in a few days and then has about a month of recovery time. Then she will back to normal!
Thank you everyone for your well wishes!

A quick update
They did find a tumor in Karen's brain. (it feels so weird to even write that)
She is going in for surgery tomorrow and we won't know for a week or so if its benign or not. When I spoke to Karen she was in good spirits which was amazing. I am pretty sure I would be freaking out. I am of course more worried than before but I am putting everything in Gods hands now. Please keep those prayers coming!

Prayers Needed
My sister has been feeling sick for the last 2 weeks and when she started having vision problems she decided to head to the hospital. They wanted to do a CAT scan to rule out anything major but instead found that she had some bleeding in her brain. She was admitted to the ER last night and had an MRI late last night. They found a mass of some sort and today the neurologist is analyzing her results and performing further tests to see what exactly it is. As you can imagine, I am freaking out. I hate that I am not there for her. Sitting and waiting to hear what is wrong is agonizing. I am praying it isn't serious and that she will be ok. Please keep her in her in your thoughts and prayers. I will let you know when I get more information.

Back to the Grind
My first day of work was today and as nice as it's been being off work for 3 weeks, I was ready to get going! I am ready to meet some people and to get a paycheck!!
Everything went well today, all the girls were really nice and I think I will like the company. It will be a lot different from Coach but a change might be nice. They have a lot more busy work to be done (markdowns, new merchandise, folding, fitting rooms) but they aren't as strict about their customer service. They take a more laid back approach where Coach made us talk to everyone no matter if they wanted help or not. I also had to wear black and white at Coach so I made sure to wear magenta today :) So that's it, just a quick post to let you know how things are going. I also requested time off for Christmas as a condition of getting hired so I will for sure be home for the Holidays!! I'll let you know as soon as I have dates.

A Job!!!!
FINALLY I got a job!! I was about to sink to levels of jobs that I dare not think of anymore.... kidding. Not really...
But I was getting desperate, I had applied at all sorts of adult jobs and hadn't heard anything and bill time was coming closer and closer. So on Monday I headed to the one place I knew would hire me...The Mall. And surely on Tuesday I got a call to schedule an interview. So today I headed out feeling good, cruising along I-84 to my interview when what do I find??? The ONE way I know to the mall is closed! And then the ONE person I know in Boise isn't answering. Before the panic sets in I tell myself it's a small town and surely I can find the mall so I make a guess as to which way to go. And then I realize I do not have time to play explorer, I have 7 minutes to get to my interview!! (And you know being late is the kiss of death)
So in the midst of my panic I realize I do know a second person here.. Grandpa! Thankfully he answered and I was on my way with approximately no minutes to spare.
I think I was about 3 minutes late but the girls I interviewed with were very cool about it and knew that the important exit was closed! Phew!!
So I had a great interview and dazzled them with my retail expertise. They even offered me a sales leader position instead of just plain old sales. I gotta say , I knew I had it in the bag :) But then when I asked how many hours they could give me, my happiness faded when she replied '20'. Aaaghh I can't survive on that! That means I have to find another job and it's impossible to work around the ever changing schedules of retail!! So I went home to lay on the couch and wonder where else I could work when the phone rang. It was Ann Taylor offering me a job. (I expected that but not so soon!) They said they knew I was job hunting and didn't want me to go anywhere else so they offered me $2 more an hour than I asked for and said they will guarantee 40 hours for the next few weeks and as many as they can do after that!!!! I cannot tell you the joy I was feeling. And since they didn't mess around my offer, I didn't mess around with an answer... I ACCEPT!!

Going Away Pics
I know these are out of order but I just got the last batch of them and wanted to be sure to post them! The toughest thing about leaving was seeing ALL of my family right before I left. I am just absolutely blessed in the family department. I have almost every kind of family (besides in-laws) I have my adoptive family, my birthfamily and step family! And I love them all :)
Here is my mom and dad (who are divorced) my birthgrandmother and her husband and my sisters boyfriend in the corner :)

Me and my Dad

Mom, Grandma and Me

My sister, her boyfriend Brian and I

When Karen and I were little we had a picture taken at Sears or something in this pose and it's been a family joke forever. And this one makes the 3rd one we've done. I wish I knew where the original was to compare!!

We tend to get silly when we get together :)

Even when she's dorky she's cute!! She had to put on Terrys glasses to read my card

My birthmother also had me over for a wonderful meal!! She is an amazing cook and it's always good to spend time with them. My half sisters are officially women and I can't believe it! They have both turned into the most beautiful and smart women. For anyone who met them when they were little, you will shocked at how grown up they are now :)

And here is me with Mary and the girls

Lauren also organized a going away party for all my friends at Eastburn. It was her husbands birthday also so we had a co-party!
I really have some beautiful friends!

Keri and Erin, two of my closest friends from High school

Me and my besty!

They have ski-ball at Eastburn which was a great party game. Jaime's face kills me!

They also have these fun porch swings which Nichole and Kartina enjoyed :)

Shots with sissy (a nasty one)

My good friend Stephine and I (and she is still in trouble for coming over the day I moved and bawling!!)

Uneventful Weekend
Well not totally uneventful but... yeah, pretty uneventful.
Friday started off not fun... job hunting. I have never had to look for a job before! I have always been recruited or referred. And I gotta say, it stinks!! Especially in this econonmy. So far I have applied at quite a few places and have heard nothing. I can't wait much longer so keep your fingers crossed! But then my day brightened up when my friend Jaime sent me a text asking me if my prize had arrived. Prize?!?! I ran to the front door and sure enough there was a package. She made me the best photo book and I had to take a video of it because a picture wouldn't do it justice.Of course it made me cry and cry and miss my friends dearly. But THANK YOU Jaime, I love it the most :)
** Ok I have spent way too much time trying to figure out why my video won't post! Ugh computer issues! So I will try and post it later :(
Then it started SNOWING Friday night!! Crazy to see snow in early October. This picture doesn't really do it justice because it was beautiful fluffy snow. Not icky rainy Portland snow. Sadly by Saturday morning it had all melted away.

Miss Lucy also got to enjoy the snow :)

This is after a few minutes of being out there. She tried to get me to pick her up and out of the cold!

Saturday and Sunday involved a lot of reading, TV watching, napping and playing with Lucy. All in all... BORING! And today I was off to the mall to get a job. You all know I didn't want to do it but at this point I haven't heard from anyone else I've applied with and I need money! So, I am pretty sure I will be working at Ann Taylor or Banana Republic soon. Those mall people love me :)
Anyway that is all for my uneventful weekend. Hopefully I'll have some more exciting news soon.

My own Private Idaho...
Hey everyone!
Sorry it has taken me so long to update you all! My poor family has been harassing me for details! So here you go...
Lauren and I headed out Friday afternoon and we got a bit of a late start so we didn't end up in Boise until about 1:30am. Lucy did great on the ride over. She crawled onto my lap about 20 minutes in to the drive and stayed there for the next 8 hours :) She was so stressed that she didn't eat, sleep or poo. My sweet sister and Mom gave us HUGE care packages. We literally had 2 bags and a cooler full of drinks and treats! Thanks girls!!
Since we got in so late we slept at Seans house and then got up Saturday morning to move in my new place. I am not sure if it's a condo or duplex but it's a cute place. It was built in the early 80s so it's a bit dated but it's also big! I have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and the kitchen, living and dining rooms are all together so it makes for one big living space. ( I will get pics up soon) I also have a fenced backyard so little Lucy is getting used to pottying outside! The location is also great. I am about 3 miles from BSU and everything that I have needed so far has been really close.
Lauren left on Sunday and an hour later my mom flew in! It was so nice to have her here to help with decorating and grocery shopping and just having her here. We got a lot done but also spent of time just relaxing with each other. She also won Lucy over which I loved :) When Lucy got up Thursday morning she even went around looking for her.
So now it's Friday and I MUST find a job! I have already applied at the hospital and that is the job I really want but I can't wait much longer so I am off to hit the pavement today. I will keep you all posted as things progress and as soon as I find my camera I will get some pics up! Thank you to everyone for your support, it means the world to me.
